Awareness Raising Sessions on the Family Law Related Issues

Freedom House supported the Bahrain Women's Union in launching its family law follow-up program by conducting family law awareness raising sessions. One of these sessions was on the Bahrain Alimony Fund and another was on the importance of having a codified personal status law. The session on the Alimony Fund aimed to raise women's awareness on one of the government's initiatives to support women facing problems with their husbands regarding their right to alimony, and the session on the importance of codifying the personal status law was intended to raise women's awareness on the rights they will be given if the codified personal status law is passed this fall.
