Launch of the "Bahraini Women's Personal Rights in Light of the 2006 Parliamentary Elections" and "Personal, Family and Legal Status of Bahraini Women" publications
The Bahrain Women's Union held a public launch event to publicize the findings of two publications, the Bahraini Women's Personal Rights in Light of the 2006 Parliamentary Elections survey report, and the Personal, Family and Legal Status of Bahraini Women Survey report, both of which Freedom House supported. Approximately 100 people attended the ceremony, including lawyers, professors, journalists, and representatives of women's rights and human rights organizations. Women's advocates and other experts involved in preparing the publications presented an overview and analysis of the survey findings, and discussed the ways in which the findings can be used by civil society, policymakers, and students. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session and copies of the surveys were disseminated to all attendees to circulate among their respective organizations and reach an even wider audience in Bahrain.
